Comments:
This was an experimental piece of freeform crochet that I’d been playing around with since last autumn. It made a nice cobwebby kind of jar.

This is very unusual yarn – it’s Habu silk yarn with a stainless steel core, which means that you can mould it and it will hold its shape. I am very intrigued by the sculptural possibilities of this. Habu are a Japanese textile company who make incredibly exciting yarns, I also have some of their paper yarn, which I suspect will be making an appearance in a jar shortly. This project is proving to be a great way to use up some of the materials I’ve collected over the years.
