Catching up with jar forms

Jar No 171

Jar No 171 has such a sweet story…

Jar No 171
Kirsty Hall: Jar No 171, June 2011

I’ve seen or collected a jar: Collected a jar

Number on lid of jar: 171

Your name (optional): Abbie

Date jar found (optional): 24 June

If you collected a jar, what motivated you to pick it up? (optional):
My mum was ill and when I saw it I thought it would cheer her up!

Where is the jar now? (optional): On the fireplace being admired.

This Hebden Bridge jar was adopted by Shani on behalf of her son, Toby, so it seems incredibly apt that the jar was given to a mother by their child – what lovely symmetry. I hope your mum is feeling better now, Abbie.

Shani also wrote about the project and the experience of gifting a jar adoption here – thanks for that, Shani.

Remember the mystery of Jar No 115? Well, it’s been cleared up. It was actually Jar No 155 that Allison found, she just mistyped the number on the form.

Thanks for letting me know, Allison.

Jar No 185

I’m not entirely sure but I think Ian has relocated Jar No 185 elsewhere in Clifton.

I’ve wanted to ‘tag’ this street for months but it’s always so busy. I finally managed it at nearly midnight on a quiet Sunday evening and even then, I had to be quick to avoid being spotted.

I think there are probably certain streets in Bristol that would be impossible to jar discretely, even at 4 in the morning!
